From the UK, an article about the intersection of science and religion, at the level of quantum physics: BBC NEWS | What do you get if you divide science by God?.

Scientists who are also religionists are in the minority, for sure, but they get a disproportionate amount of attention… like a Jewish Nazi of a black employee of the KKK. Is this appropriate?

Not sure… obviously many people think this tells us something about the state of knowledge. I’m more inclined to believe that it is just further proof that religion is brain/genetically based as I postulated over 20 years ago. With that being the case, you’d expect a certain percentage of people with a high knowledge of reality would still find themselves unable to let go of superstition. Otherwise, you’d have an equal percentage of people with little understanding of the rational thinking process who would nevertheless be non-believers.

Gail Cotter lost her husband to cancer a year ago during the holiday season. So this Christmas has been hard for her.

But recently while shopping with her daughter, Michelle Olszewski, for presents for the grandchildren, she picked up one of those draw-and-erase boards that kids can doodle on. She noticed something printed on the screen.
“I love you Gail.”

Messages from God on toys… well, at least it’s different from the usual Jesus on a Napkin Stain story. But as soon as He gets done with all His low-brow “miracles,” God is going to get around to those dying kids…hones

We just love these religious pareidolia stories; they give us an explanation as to why there is so much suffering in the world. After all, how can you expect God to save the 25,000 children who starve to death every day – or that baby with painful cancer you saw on TV just last night? Clearly, He is too damn busy appearing on sidewalks, cheese sandwiches and driveway stains to worry about insignificant problems like human suffering!

It sure doesn’t take much to get on TV these days, does it? This “news story” is a very rare case of non-Jesus pareidolia: Old man winter pays Northwest a visit — literally! | KOMO News

..in Lake Stevens, it looks like he put in a personal appearance! This icicle was found hanging from Jeremy Olden’s home.

Pareidolia, btw, is the sense of seeing a form that isn’t there; Jesus on toast, The Virgin Mary on a window stain, etc. The tendency to interpret a vague stimulus as something known to the viewer. [ref] It’s an easy way to get publicity if you are morally-challenged.
